Megan Squire is a professor of Computing Sciences at Elon University. After working in the software industry in Raleigh and South Florida, she moved into academia, where she now studies free, libre and open-source software (FLOSS) development teams from a data mining perspective. She co-founded and leads a project called FLOSSmole, which is designed to collect and analyze data about FLOSS development, and then freely provide the data sets and results back to the scientific research community. Her work on FLOSS is supported by the National Science Foundation and the Computing Research Association. She has published two practitioner-oriented books on data mining.
