ChatOps 101 – What is it and why do I need it to thrive in an open source world?

Good open source software thrives in an environment dominated by open and persistent channels of communication. The ChatOps movement focuses on taking the types of conversations that happen everyday within development teams to integrate people, their processes, and the applications that they use together into “transparent” workflows. In this fifteen minute talk I am going to talk about how ChatOps is different from (but complementary to) DevOps, the various shapes of ChatOps you might encounter, and why you and your team should be adopting ChatOps if you aren’t already.
