This 101-level talk is about remembering the core values of FLOSS when we choose our development practices. How do we communicate transparently? How do we encourage participation? Many well-meaning but forgetful developers/community managers accidentally put FLOSS values at risk by doing things like releasing code without a license, or by using un-archived walled gardens for communication, or by unintentionally creating monolithic communities. Takeaways include understanding shared FLOSS values and where they come from, and a concrete, actionable list of which development practices support (and do not support) these values.
