When working in a command line driven world, it’s often useful to be able to read and edit files from the command line. And few command line editors are more ubiquitous (or confusing) than Vim. This will be a quick look at some basic topics including opening and saving files, Vim’s different modes, and the language of commands that Vim uses for editing text, followed by a brief look at how to grow your Vim skills.
