You probably don’t think of libraries as open source software developers. Don’t worry – we’re not. But we had an innovative idea, got some funding, hired a talented shop, and are developing a great product together.
We call it Intercept — a groundbreaking events, calendar and room reservation system that checks in customers at programs, pairs that with circulation data and customer feedback and gives library cardholders personalized suggestions. In other words, your library will give you suggestions like Netflix or Amazon.
Our panel of in-house developers, open source agency experts and employees will be there to paint the big picture and offer specific insights into the launch of a first-of-its-kind open source project for the non-profit world.
Hear how a public library got involved in open source software development, the lessons we’ve learned along the way, where we are now and where we go from here. Come prepared – we’re going to ask you some questions at the end – we’re all in this together!
