Caroline Crowder joined the USC/Columbia Technology Incubator team in 2016 to drive economic development in the Midlands of South Carolina. The USC/Columbia Technology Incubator exists to support technology-based startups in the Midlands through education, mentoring, and a sense of community. Caroline currently serves as the Program Director, managing operations, programs, and community outreach and events. Caroline guides a collection of nearly 50 startup companies and assists and mentors these companies along the many transitions from idea to marketplace. These startups generate nearly $20M annually and contribute almost 500 jobs to the local economy. Caroline leverages a vast network across the state including representatives from the University of South Carolina, Richland and Lexington Counties, and the City of Columbia, to contribute human, educational, and financial resources to Incubator members.
