Session: Rust at Microsoft

The software industry has a billion dollar problem: the base of our mission critical systems are usually written in memory unsafe languages that are susceptible to expensive and dangerous security vulnerabilities. But a new programming language is on the horizon that may help the industry address this issue: Rust. In this talk we’ll examine why Microsoft is becoming more and more interested in Rust and why we see it as a potential game changer for systems programming across the industry.
