We look forward to hosting attendees from all over the U.S. and the world for Open Source 101 in 2023. If you plan to travel to Charlotte we’ve included some information below you might find helpful.

AIRPORT- CLT

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is ranked among the world’s busiest airports, with an average of 1,400 arrivals and departures and 118,000 people traveling to, from and though CLT each day, according to Airports Council International’s (ACI) 2021 rankings.

ACI ranks CLT No. 5 worldwide for air traffic and No. 6 for passenger traffic, reflecting the Airport’s important role in the aviation industry and as the second-largest hub for American Airlines. ACI based its 2021 rankings on 519,895 annual aircraft arrivals and departures and an annual passenger total of 43,302,230 people.

CLT offers nonstop air service to 184 destinations around the globe and is home to eight major air carriers, 15 regional carriers and three foreign flag carriers. In 2022, CLT welcomed nearly 48 million passengers and oversaw more than 505,500 arrivals and departures.

HOTELS

Two (2) hotels have agreed to extend a courtesy block / courtesy rates for anyone staying overnight. Each of the hotels included below are located in the immediate downtown area and are close to the conference venue (Dubois Center). Each has a different price point and different loyalty programs (for those of you accumulating points).

Holiday Inn – Charlotte Center City

Rate is limited, based upon availability. The last day to book at the group rate is February 22, 2023.

Reservations can also be made by calling the Hotel Front Desk directly at (704) 335-5400 Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM or by calling 1-800-HOLIDAY.  When calling in to make reservations guests must identify themselves as members of the Open Source 101.

Parking: Convenient, onsite covered parking is provided for all registered guests or meeting attendees on a space available basis. The Hotel parking charges are at the prevailing rate. Currently the nightly rates are $22.00 per night for self-parking and $28.00 for valet. Individual reservations must be cancelled prior 72 hours prior to arrival date to avoid a charge of one-night room and tax. In the event a guest who has reserved a room checks out prior to the guest’s reserved checkout date, the hotel will add an early checkout fee of $50.00 to that guest’s individual account. Guests wishing to avoid an early checkout fee will advise the hotel at or before check-in of any change of planned length of stay. Parking: Convenient onsite, covered parking is available for $45 per day. You may cancel your reservation for no charge before 11:59 PM local hotel time 3 day[s] before arrival.
